GIVING TREE FOR CATHOLIC CHARITIES
Please help provide baby items to supply the Pregnancy Support Program. Take a tag from the Christmas tree near the altar. Return the UNWRAPPED gifts next to the tree by January 7th. Baby items and gift cards are requested on the tree tags. Gift cards are used by Catholic Charities to purchase cribs, car seats, and other items throughout the year. HELPING HANDS NEEDS YOUR HELP!
Christmas is coming quickly and Helping Hands is planning to help 50 families. Donate food & gifts – Donate time! We need:
- Christmas dinner items, gift cards and cash donations
- Help packing food boxes on December 15th
- Help delivering the boxes to families on Decemeber 17th
- Adopt a family!

PARISH KIDS KNOW TRUE MEANING OF HOLIDAY
St. Ann PREP and our Youth Ministry are teaming up to provide snack bags to the homeless staying at the Winter Warming Station in Allentown. PREP classes are collecting snacks over the next few weeks, and the Youth Ministry and Confirmation classes will be assembling bags to be given out to anyone staying at the overnight shelter. OPLATKI CHRISTMAS WAFERS AVAILABLE!
Add a new touch to your Christmas Eve traditions. Paper-thin Oplatki are embossed with scenes of the Holy Family. Breaking of the Oplatki is a centuries-old custom. There are 5 wafers per envelope. Please be generous in your donation for the Oplatki. Envelopes in Church lobby, entrances, and Rectory.
BLOOD DRIVE UPDATE
Did you know that St. Ann had 31 successful donations at the recent Knights of Columbus-sponsored Blood Drive? Not only was their goal exceeded by 4 units, but our St. Ann parishioners will impact as many as 93 lives Thank you to all who donated this lifesaving gift of blood, and also thanks to our KOC members who organize the Blood Drive each year. Mark your calendars: The next St. Ann Parish Blood Drive will be in June 2018.
HISTORY OF THE DIOCESE OF ALLENTOWN
Celebrate 50 years of faith in the Diocese of Allentown by purchasing a “History of the Diocese” for the low price of $5. Buy one for your family members and also for those who have moved out of town and share the rich history of the church in Eastern Pennsylvania from the 18th Century until now. Copies are available at the rectory and may be purchased during office hours. The “History of the Diocese” would make a great gift for Christmas!
MASS OF REMEMBRANCE
December 16th at 1:00 PM
The annual parish Holiday Mass of Remembrance will be held on Saturday, December 16th at 1:00 PM. Join us to celebrate the lives of our departed loved ones in the midst of the busy holiday season. All are invited to honor your deceased beloved by adding their name’s in our special Remembrance Book from 12:15 until 12:50 PM and then celebrating Mass, which will begin promptly at 1:00 PM. Names of those remembered will be read during Mass. Light reception and fellowship to follow in the cafeteria. Registration forms may be found at church entrances and in next week’s bulletin. PARISH PENANCE SERVICE
December 17th at 4:00 PM
St. Ann’s Penance Service is a wonderful way to receive the sacrament of Reconciliation before Christmas. We will have 8 priests available to hear confessions. Penance Service begins at 4 pm.

WOMEN’S ALLIANCE OF ST. ANN’S (W.A.S.A.) NEWS
Ladies of the parish, you are invited to join us in the school cafeteria at 6:30 PM for fellowship and a light supper. It is a great time, filled with laughter and conversation, a time to connect with parish friends! We have a brief meeting at 7:00 PM to discuss activities, service to others and upcoming events! We often have a speaker and then close our meeting with prayer and a spiritual reading to help enrich our lives. We are on our way home by 8:30 PM! Membership is open to all and we encourage you to join us!

MONTHLY BAPTISMAL PREPARATION CLASS
December 18th at 7:00 PM in the Parish Life Center
The monthly Baptismal Class has been scheduled for Monday, December 18th. It will begin promptly at 7:00 PM in the Parish Life Center at 526 Fairview Street. This class is obligatory for both parents who request to have their children baptized and have not yet attended the class. Godparents are also welcome.
