REGISTER FOR PREP

PREP Classes begin in September. Classes will be held weekly on Wednesday afternoons and evenings, and now Sunday mornings are available for 7th grade, 10:00 am - 11:15 am. For the 2018-19 registration form, go to: https://tinyurl.com/y89b7b32, or pick up a form at the Info Desk in our church lobby.

EVENING PREP TEACHERS NEEDED

This fall, over 300 children, from 1st through 8th grades, will sign up to learn more about Jesus and the Catholic faith. You can help them learn and grow in faith - become a PREP (Parish Religious Education Program) catechist!

Openings for Wednesday evening (6:45 pm - 8:00 pm) for 7th grades.

A life of stewardship asks us to share the gifts we have been given. Give a gift of a precious resource - your time! Please teach in our PREP program!

RAISE YOUR VOICES!

St. Ann's Adult Choir resumes rehearsals and welcomes new members. Beginning Wednesday, September 5th, the choir will rehearse weekly from 7:30 pm to 9:15 pm on Wednesday nights. High school students and adults welcome. All voice parts, especially male tenor singers, are needed. Contact Carol Traupman-Carr at 610-248-3122 or email her at traupman-carrc@moravian.edu before attending your first rehearsal so that she can be sure to have music ready for you!

FALL FEST SUPPLIES NEEDED

Our 36th Annual Fall Fest is St. Ann’s largest fundraiser for our parish! Please support our Fall Fest food booths by donating the following items over the next several weekends: Paper plates (dessert & dinner-sized) napkins; plastic forks, knives & spoons; dishwashing liquid; paper towels; large hand sanitizers; ketchup; mustard; and relish. Please place any donations in the Fall Fest bins in the church lobby. Thank You!

HELP STOCK FALL FEST’S LIQUOR PICK

The Liquor Pick at Fall Fest is a popular activity. We need your help to stock up! Please donate any unopened, recently purchased bottles of wine or liquor. Bottles may only be given to a responsible adult in the rectory or the sacristy. Please do not place any bottles in the Fall Fest bins or food donation boxes. Thank you for your Fall Fest donations!

BASKET RAFFLE DONATIONS NEEDED

Fall Fest is just around the corner, and we need your help to donate filled baskets for the basket raffle. Please fill baskets with new items only. Theme baskets are great: gift cards, show tickets, sports tickets, movie tickets, grocery gift cards, etc. (Don’t forget to purchase your gift cards through St. Ann’s Shopping Cart program after Mass!) Please call Pam Schiaffo, 610-966-5069, with any questions or for the drop-off location.

RECYCLING CONTAINERS NOT TO BE USED

St. Ann’s is no longer accepting paper in the large green & white containers in the parking lot. The company has stopped collecting the paper and has not removed the bins. We are working to resolve this as quickly as possible. Thank you for your patience.

3-C SOCIAL CLUB

St. Ann’s Club for Widows & Widowers meets every 3rd Tuesday of each month at Superior Restaurant in Emmaus at 8:45 am. Dutch Treat! Please join us! RSVP by August 20th to Barbara at 610-967-1561.

PRAYER SHAWL MINISTRY

August 23rd
6:00 pm in the Parish Life Center

Prayer Shawl Ministry volunteers create prayer shawls and blankets for those who are sick or in need of comfort on every 4th Thursday of the month, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, in the Parish Life Center. The shawls are blessed by our pastors and are donated to hospice facilities, hospitals, nursing homes, etc. Blankets are distributed through Project Linus. We’re always happy to have new volunteers! KID’S BINGO & ICE CREAM SOCIAL

August 24th
6:00 pm in the Cafeteria

Join us for a fun night to benefit St. Ann’s School sponsored by the Knights of Columbus Council #12886. Free Admission with a donated school supply. The event includes Kid’s BINGO with PRIZES followed by ICE CREAM! St. Ann’s School Cafeteria. Doors open at 6:00 pm. Bingo starts at 6:30 pm followed by ice cream for families!

BACK TO SCHOOL BACKPACK BLESSING

All Masses

We’re sending our students off to a great start this school year! KIDS! Bring your backpack to church! Let the Holy Spirit guide our young parishioners in all of their academic pursuits! Teachers, college students, etc. all are welcome to join in the blessing! Backpacks are optional - All students & teachers will be blessed.

FALL FEST

September 6th - 8th
Fall Fest is a fun and exciting 3-day church festival and community celebration that occurs annually on the Thursday, Friday and Saturday after Labor Day. Taking place every year since 1982, it is one of the oldest and most significant annual community events in the borough of Emmaus, drawing our neighbors from all of the surrounding communities and beyond.

ST. ANN PRIME TIMERS MEETING

WASA WELCOME BACK WINE & CHEESE PARTY!

September 10th
6:30 pm in the School Cafeteria

Come find out what WASA is all about at our Welcome Back Wine & Cheese Party! Starting with lite supper at 6:30 pm. laughter, and joyful conversation! We will have a short meeting at 7 pm to introduce our executive board and join together in prayer! All women of the parish are invited to join us, so bring a friend!  The "Purses will be on Parade" and you can purchase your tickets for our Designer Bag Bingo scheduled for October! So bring your checkbook and reserve your table for Friday evening October 12th. Jane also sends a reminder that you can bring any items you may have purchased for our BINGO's amazing door prizes to this meeting. Donna will continue our spiritual enrichment series, based on Women in the Bible and discuss the events of the upcoming year. Bev Ruppert will bring prayer shawls and blankets for Msgr. Coyle to bless before they are distributed to comfort and console those in need of a warm hug. Please plan to join us for the evening. PROTECTING GOD’S CHILDREN PROGRAM

September 22nd
8:45 am - Noon in the Parish Life Center

If you plan to volunteer with the school, parish, scouts, CYO, or PREP program, now is your chance to attend a PGC workshop at St. Ann’s.

All Diocese of Allentown volunteers and employees who have contact with children are required to attend a Protecting God’s Children Program. This presentation is made by trained facilitators from the diocese “to educate every Diocesan priest, employee and volunteer who interacts with children about the damage caused by child sexual abuse and what they can do to prevent it.” If you attended a Protecting God’s Children program in the past you do not need to attend again.

This program is not suitable for children. No one under the age of 18 may attend. Please make other arrangements for your children.

Women’s Alliance of St. Ann’s Friday October 12, 2018 Monsignor Hoban GYM 6th & Fairview Streets, Emmaus PA 18049 Gym doors open at 6:15 pm Games begin at 7:00 pm. 20 Games for $25 includes 5 Special Games featuring bags by Coach, Kate Spade, Dooney & Bourke, and Vera Bradley - plus many door prizes, complimentary beverages & dessert, a Kate Spade raffle, a 50/50 drawing, and a Coach raffle. PRIME TIMERS BUS TRIP

November 14th
Bus trip to the Christmas Show at the American Music Theater in Lancaster, PA. The cost $95 per person. A $20 deposit, included in the cost, is required per person.
