Dear Benedictine Sisters of Baltimore

Please accept our donation to you and your ministry of $400 in honor of Sister Josepha. We serve our community as a ministry called Helping Hands here at St Ann parish in Emmaus PA- the former parish where Sister Josepha Meyer lived.

Our mission is to serve members of our community who are in need of housing, food support or temporary financial assistance. Our parish is amazingly generous and we consistently are able to provide holiday meals for 50-150 families depending on the holiday. Additionally, we also give Christmas gifts and Easter baskets to community children. As you can imagine, fundraising is an important part of what we do and our goal is always to give 100% of the money we collect to those in need - whether through holiday meals or through the year.

When brainstorming fundraising ideas this past fall, our youngest member, Sophia, a high school senior, decided to follow in Sr. Josepha's footsteps and make soap. "It occurred to me that Sr. Josepha used to make it [soap) to raise money for charities and that maybe I could use my soap making kits to help raise money for Helping Hands." The return of Sr. Josepha's soap was so well received; Sophia sold out in a few hours!

Our parish loved Sr. Josepha and was famous (in our parish) for her wonderful soap, generous spirit and sparkling eyes. We are honored to be able to follow in her footsteps and do the same by gifting you with this donation.

God Bless all of you and your work,

In Christ,

Derek Demchak
