Caring for Women’s Health: A Call to Action

On May 28, people around the world recognize the International Day of Action for Women’s Health. This day reminds us how important it is to care for the health and well-being of women in our families, church, and community.

Women often take care of others first, but their own health matters just as much. Regular check-ups, healthy eating, staying active, and getting enough rest are important steps every woman can take. Preventive care, like screenings and doctor visits, can help find health problems early, when they are easier to treat.

Mental health is also important. Many women carry stress from work, family, and daily life. Taking time to rest, pray, and talk with trusted friends can bring peace and strength. As a church family, we can support one another by offering encouragement, kindness, and understanding.

Sadly, not all women have equal access to healthcare. Some face barriers like cost, transportation, or lack of information. This day is also a reminder to care for those in need and speak up for fair access to health services for all.

The Bible teaches us that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19). Caring for our health is one way we honor God and the life He has given us. Let us take this time to support, uplift, and care for the women in our lives. Strong, healthy women help build strong, healthy families and communities.
